POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of the NPI Sourcing Specialist is to assist the supplier development team in the creation and execution of new components for designated Powertrain systems (Motor, GDU, Inverter) and ICCU assembly initiatives.

This position necessitates collaboration with suppliers to guarantee that the components they produce adhere to the established quality benchmarks, are delivered punctually, and align with the financial objectives set forth by the organization.

Ultimately, the NPI Sourcing Specialist is vital to the achievements of the supplier development team and the overall effectiveness of the Powertrain assembly projects by ensuring that the components supplied meet the necessary quality standards, are timely, and contribute to the company's cost efficiency.

ABOUT MOBIS NORTH AMERICA ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN, LLC

MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of Battery System Assembly (BSA) and Powertrain systems, which are essential components for electric vehicle production, utilizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies related to battery system assembly. To provide BSA and Powertrain systems for three major hubs of the Hyundai Motor Group in North America, MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC operates multiple plants in Alabama and Georgia, capable of supplying parts for over 1,300 vehicles daily.


Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions (The incumbent must effectively perform each essential duty. Additional duties may be assigned.)

Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of EV motors and their components, including their interactions.
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities for cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  • Excellent communication skills to keep stakeholders updated on processes.
  • Proven project management abilities to ensure timelines are met.
  • Experience in the automotive sourcing sector is preferred.

Project Management

  • Facilitates part development and implementation for assigned projects with suppliers and various departments.
  • Creates detailed project plans, tactical execution strategies, and schedules for each component project.
  • Provides management with overviews and reports on critical project tasks.
  • Maintains robust relationships with suppliers and both internal and external customers.
  • Regularly communicates with upper management regarding the status of ongoing projects, seeking guidance and approvals as necessary.

Supplier Management

  • Assists suppliers in meeting quality requirements throughout projects and programs.
  • Addresses supply shortages related to supplier issues.
  • Conducts value engineering assessments for potential cost savings.
  • Recommends Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for cost reduction, quality enhancement, and lean production.
  • Collects and organizes documentation from suppliers to support HQ, Sales, and customer requests.
  • Responsible for supplier Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) reviews and supplier quality audits.
  • Performs other assigned tasks as needed.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Robust analytical and technical skills.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, forging, welding, die-casting, machining, electronics, assembly, material flow).
  • Ability to interpret 2D/3D drawings and familiarity with design tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply quality.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: None

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with some mobility within and between facilities.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Frequent travel, including potential overnight or extended stays.
  • Engagement in all Supplier Development workgroups as necessary.
