Job Overview

Position Summary

The Parts Procurement Specialist and Assistant Manager collaborates with the Procurement Manager to implement strategic supplier sourcing, manage RFQs, handle commercial negotiations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and oversee supplier relations, with a preference for candidates fluent in Korean.


Key Responsibilities (The successful candidate must effectively perform each essential duty. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.)

[Procurement Duties]

  • Develops new sourcing strategies and leads sourcing initiatives.
  • Reviews and prepares legal documents such as RFQs, LOIs, and terms in accordance with MOBIS policies, and negotiates contracts with suppliers.
  • Analyzes and clarifies supplier quote packages.
  • Possesses knowledge of procurement processes including SR reviews, RFQ issuance, quotation analysis, and supplier selection.
  • Identifies and cultivates potential suppliers as needed.
  • Oversees cost analysis for parts, tooling, and supplier expenses, negotiating pricing with suppliers.

[Project Management Responsibilities]

  • Accountable for part development and implementation.
  • Creates detailed project plans, executes tactical strategies, schedules, and cost assessments for each project component.
  • Provides management with updates and reports on critical project milestones.
  • Maintains strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Sales Managers, to ensure timely project deliverables.
  • Regularly communicates with upper management regarding project statuses and seeks guidance and approvals as necessary.

[Supplier Management Responsibilities]

  • Guides suppliers to meet quality standards throughout projects.
  • Addresses supply shortages related to supplier issues.
  • Conducts value engineering to identify potential cost reductions.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

  • Oversees all members of the Procurement Working Group.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a procurement role within the manufacturing or automotive sector is preferred for the Assistant Manager position.
  • Experience with Hyundai, Kia, or MOBIS is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial System Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in automotive assembly or manufacturing is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong sense of accountability.
  • In-depth understanding of the Just In Sequence process in the automotive sector.
  • Fluency in Korean to facilitate communication with headquarters.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with injection, press, welding, painting, and assembly operations.

Working Conditions: Office environment with repetitive standing and walking between buildings, along with occasional travel requirements.
