Job Title: Family Engagement Specialist

Hillcrest Children Center is seeking a highly skilled Family Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to engage families and communities in the educational process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement family engagement strategies that promote parental involvement and community participation in the school.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and staff to identify and address the needs of diverse school communities.
  • Provide training and support to parents and community members on topics such as mental health, stress management, and substance abuse prevention.
  • Facilitate communications between school personnel, families, and community partners to promote a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
  • Conduct universal screenings to identify early warning signs of mental health issues and provide referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Participate in the school support team and other entities to promote the socio-emotional and academic wellness of students.
  • Document all contacts, referrals, and other necessary information in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, social work, or community development.
  • Three years' experience developing and facilitating training opportunities for adult learners.
  • Three years' experience in systems change, community organizing, communications, or development in a nonprofit, government, or business setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective public presentations.
  • Ability to analyze data and systems that can affect parents and families.
  • Interpersonal skills that emphasize team building and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Experience working with schools, community-based organizations, or family supporting organizations.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications, such as databases, word processing, email, and website applications.
