Despite our size, Hajoca operates in a decentralized manner, with each of our locations, referred to as Profit Centers (PCs), managed by a Profit Center Manager who treats it like their own enterprise. A typical Profit Center serves as the nucleus of our operations, encompassing a warehouse, sales counter, office space, and occasionally a showroom. Each PC operates under distinct trade names, providing a tailored business strategy that respects the uniqueness of each local market.

Hajoca Richmond South is one such trade name, currently seeking a Sales Counter Associate to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional sales and support to walk-in customers at our sales counters, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain, stock, and organize the sales counter area, supporting both Inside and Outside Sales initiatives.
  • Assist customers confidently during their purchase and pickup of merchandise.
  • Accurately process and fulfill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter.
  • Provide customers with dependable information regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability.
  • Keep the counter area and merchandise displays clean, organized, current, stocked, and safely arranged.
  • Uphold security and control at this primary customer interaction point.
  • Communicate any changes in a customer's business that may pose a credit risk to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager.
  • Process cash sale returns and refund documentation in line with company policies.
  • Notify supervisors of inventory levels or stock shortages that could affect customer service.
  • Assist colleagues in serving customers, including answering incoming calls, stocking merchandise in the warehouse, and preparing orders for delivery.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales; contractor sales experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with products sold in the Profit Center.

  • Knowledgeable about safety practices in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Able to learn to operate and demonstrate hand tools.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to learn and utilize the computer systems necessary for processing orders.
