The Virginia Lottery, functioning as an independent state agency, is actively seeking a part-time Sales Merchandiser to join its Sales Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support sales efforts by replenishing and maintaining Lottery vending machines.
- Replace and upkeep counter dispensers.
- Assist in launching new games during promotional periods.
- Participate in special projects and other assigned tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the Area Manager and Sales Representatives to achieve sales and distribution objectives within the designated sales area.
This position is hourly and does not include benefits, with a work schedule of less than 30 hours per week, subject to business needs. Weekend availability is required, and a state vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential. A professional demeanor, good mathematical abilities, and the capacity to lift and move up to 50 lbs. are required. Travel within a broad radius of the sales area and weekend work are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in route sales, the consumer packaged goods sector, and familiarity with convenience stores, mass merchandising, or grocery environments is advantageous. Previous route experience is preferred.
