Job Summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and meeting sales and work goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Adhere to and practice the company's service standards with each customer, ensuring a positive and personalized shopping experience.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Meet sales and work goals as directed by members of store management, while maintaining accurate and complete sales transactions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead other team members in your store by being an example in the accuracy and completeness of your work, and work together to achieve common goals.
  • Inventory Management: Participate in physical inventories, assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, and maintain awareness of Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff members.
  • Cash Handling: Process all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, and maintain strict control of all monies and sales documentation.
Requirements
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with external contacts (primarily customers) and with all levels of employees.
  • Communication Skills: Basic communication (both verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
  • Experience: Experience in retail sales, preferably specialty retail or footwear.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the policies and procedures, and basic visual merchandising skills and an understanding of the Store Presentation Standards.
