Human Resources Coordinator

Job Summary
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join its team. As the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, this individual will provide responsive and transparent support for the HR function in a busy headquarters office.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate HR activities, including responding to inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, and coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation.
- Handle complex and diverse duties for multiple projects and programs.
- Provide administrative support for HR-related tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with HR staff to ensure seamless delivery of HR services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least two years of human resources experience.
- General knowledge of the HR function, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with HR and payroll systems.
- Experience at MIT or in higher education.
