Position Objective

The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships will play a crucial role in scaling the business by identifying and pursuing new opportunities with key collaborators. This includes engaging with retailers such as department stores or travel retail operators to establish pre-owned luxury goods outlets, as well as partnering with brands to enable them to manage the entire lifecycle of their products by integrating a certified pre-owned section into their distribution channels.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of success in business development through strategic alliances, alongside a profound understanding of the luxury goods market. They will have a robust network of connections at the executive level within department stores, travel retail operators, and luxury brands. The candidate should be adept at educating and persuading clients regarding innovative business models and their advantages. This role can be structured as either a full-time position or a part-time consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's growth ambitions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with key partners across department stores, travel retail operators, luxury brands, and brand groups.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers at targeted organizations, understanding their needs and challenges, and delivering effective solutions.
  • Educate clients on the advantages of our comprehensive solution and how it can enhance their brand and profitability.
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements with large organizations, ensuring mutual satisfaction with the terms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and customer service, to ensure the successful execution of new partnerships.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, preferably within the luxury goods sector.
  • A strong network of contacts at the executive level of department stores, travel retail operators, luxury brands, or brand groups.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to educate clients about innovative business models and their benefits.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to close deals with large organizations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
