Position Overview
Utilizes core engineering principles, methodologies, and protocols to evaluate operational metrics and processes, identify opportunities for enhancement, and implement technological solutions that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation & Systems: Assists in the optimization of specific material handling sortation systems, including design specifications and integration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for manual sortation facilities. Evaluates vendor-supplied equipment and aids in project installation and testing.
  • Facilities & Material Handling Engineering: Contributes to the design and development of facilities, buildings, offices, and material handling systems, including sortation equipment. Collaborates with vendors on maintenance strategies for material handling and manual sortation systems.
  • Project Management: Oversees the engineering, construction, and commissioning of sortation facilities and material handling systems.
  • Industrial Engineering & Process Improvement: Provides analytical support and reporting tools for field operations to effectively manage operational costs.
  • Operations Research & Planning: Analyzes data to support both tactical and strategic planning for network design and capacity for current and future facilities.
  • Technology Development: Researches, designs, and implements innovative technology solutions to enhance performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Procurement Engineering: Offers engineering insights on critical material handling system components requiring specialized technical knowledge.
  • Security Oversight: Ensures the security of all operational technology devices within the network.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts performance analysis utilizing engineering tools and software.
  • Researches and consolidates technical information for management review.
  • Prepares accurate expenditure proposals with management oversight.
  • Documents research findings and progress for team communication.
  • Applies project management principles and prepares relevant documentation.
  • Engages in control self-monitoring processes within the designated area.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • High school diploma or GED with four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related fields are preferred.
  • Project Management experience in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills for training and informational sessions.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical abilities to review and make recommendations.
