Role Overview
As a key contributor, you will leverage essential engineering principles, methodologies, and practices to evaluate operational metrics, pinpoint enhancement opportunities, and implement technological solutions that align with organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Automation & Systems: Assist in the support of specific material handling sortation systems, including design specifications and integration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for manual sort facilities. Evaluate vendor-supplied equipment and aid in project installation and testing.
  • Facilities & Material Handling Engineering: Contribute to the design and development of sites, buildings, offices, and material handling systems. Collaborate with vendors to ensure effective preventative maintenance for material handling and manual sortation equipment.
  • Project Management: Oversee the engineering, construction, and initiation of sortation facilities and material handling systems.
  • Industrial Engineering & Process Improvement: Provide analytical support and reporting tools to optimize operational costs within field operations.
  • Operations Research & Planning: Analyze data to assist in the strategic development of long-term network design and capacity planning for future facilities.
  • Technology Development: Research and implement new technology solutions aimed at enhancing performance and reducing operational costs.
  • Procurement Engineering: Deliver engineering support on critical material handling system commodities requiring specialized technical knowledge.
  • Security Engineering: Ensure the security of all operational technology devices and collaborate with IT and security teams on relevant initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Preferred Disciplines: Degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related fields are preferred for specific roles.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required, although familiarity with project management and engineering principles is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with management.
  • Ability to present information clearly and facilitate training sessions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical skills to review data and make informed recommendations.

Work Environment
Flexibility in work location may be available, with a preference for candidates based in specific regions.
