Role Overview:
Utilizes core engineering principles, methodologies, and practices to evaluate operational metrics and methods, pinpoint opportunities for performance enhancement, and implement technological systems that align with corporate goals.


Key Responsibilities:

AUTOMATION & SYSTEMS:
Assists in the support of specialized material handling sortation systems, including design specifications and integration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for manual sort facilities. Evaluates vendor-supplied equipment and aids in project installation and testing.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING ENGINEERING:
Contributes to the design and development of sites, structures, offices, material handling systems, and sortation equipment. Collaborates with vendors on preventive maintenance initiatives for material handling and manual sortation apparatus.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Oversees the planning, direction, control, and execution of engineering, construction, and initiation of sortation facilities and material handling systems.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING & PROCESS:
Provides analytical support, reporting tools, and engineering assistance for field operations to effectively manage and justify operational expenditures.

OPERATIONS RESEARCH, PLANNING & ANALYSIS:
Examines data to aid in the tactical and strategic development of long-term network design and capacity planning for existing and future facilities.

OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY:
Conducts research, design, development, deployment, and support of both new and existing technological solutions aimed at enhancing performance and minimizing operational costs under management guidance. Engages in cross-functional project teams responsible for the implementation of new technologies.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROCUREMENT ENGINEER:
Delivers analysis and engineering support on essential material handling system commodities that necessitate specific technical expertise for procurement.


OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY SECURITY ENGINEER:
Manages the security of all operational technology devices within the network. Collaborates with IT, InfoSec, and Network Services on all operational technology security initiatives.

Essential Functions:
Analyzes performance data within the engineering domain. Employs engineering tools and software to interpret data and resolve fundamental engineering inquiries. Conducts research, analyzes, and consolidates technical or engineering-related information for management review. Prepares accurate expenditure proposals and/or cost justification analyses with management guidance. Formulates and presents documentation of research, progress, and results to team members and internal stakeholders. Applies project management fundamentals and concepts with management oversight. Develops progress reports, meeting notes, and field communication memos for management review. Participates in Control Self Monitoring (CSM) and/or Business Control Self-Assessment (BCSA) processes within the area of responsibility. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical or quantitative field is required; alternatively, a high school diploma or GED along with four (4) years of experience in a relevant technical area may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Preferred disciplines may include:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING ENGINEERING:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING & PROCESS:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.

OPERATIONS RESEARCH, PLANNING & ANALYSIS:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is preferred.

OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

FACILITIES & MATERIAL HANDLING PROCUREMENT ENGINEERING:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.

OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY SECURITY ENGINEERING:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field focused on IT Security is preferred. Minimum experience is not required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office and web-based tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with all management levels. Presentation skills are necessary for training facilitation and information delivery to groups or individuals.

Time management, organizational, and multitasking skills are crucial for thriving in a fast-paced environment, managing various tasks and shifting priorities while maintaining a keen attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a background in Project Management with experience in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

Compensation Information:
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity encompasses multiple job levels, the salary information reflects the minimum and maximum for the job level. Actual starting pay will be determined by experience relative to the position, market level, compensation at the location for this role, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
