Position Summary:
Krystal Biotech, Inc. is in search of a dedicated Automation Engineering Specialist to contribute to our operations. This role involves supporting the design, implementation, and upkeep of automation systems within our CGMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a background in electrical engineering or a related discipline, along with a keen interest in automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and execution of automation systems for manufacturing operations.
- Support the development and enhancement of control systems to boost efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate innovative automation technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenges related to automation systems and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and updates on existing automation systems.
- Assist in the creation and upkeep of documentation for automation initiatives.
- Support validation and commissioning efforts for new automation systems.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects to elevate automation capabilities.
- Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in automation engineering, ideally within a GMP or manufacturing context.
- Basic knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective presentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to internal client and customer service principles.
- Familiarity with contemporary technology stacks, particularly in infrastructure, software engineering, data, and analytics.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and processes.
- Ability to travel as necessary to support project activities.
