Position Overview:

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is expanding its Manufacturing Infrastructure Services (MIS) team and is currently seeking a Structural Engineer. This role presents an exciting opportunity to design cutting-edge facilities across diverse sectors including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste management, power generation, and public infrastructure. We are looking for proactive individuals who possess strong communication abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for applying their professional expertise in a collaborative team setting. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, committed to meeting both personal and team objectives, and adaptable to a dynamic work environment. A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required, with preference given to those holding a Professional Engineer registration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of structural codes and standards.
  • Collaborate under the guidance of a senior engineer to:
    • Evaluate structures utilizing various structural engineering software such as STAAD, RAM, TEDDS, SP-MATS, and Hilti Profis for the design of buildings, foundations, and other structural elements.
    • Prepare detailed structural calculations and designs for various materials, focusing primarily on steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Ensure quality control for structural designs executed by other team members.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the structural discipline during meetings with project managers, other discipline leads, and clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate design details and criteria with other engineering disciplines.
  • Generate estimates for structural engineering hours required for ongoing projects and new proposals.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly with industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Proven knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, AIST, ASCE, and AWS.
  • Familiarity with structural design software is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to conduct field/site visits.
  • Ability to travel as needed (estimated travel time is 10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in structural engineering is advantageous.
  • Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • P.E. Registration or E.I.T. with several years of experience under a licensed P.E. is preferred.
  • Experience in leading teams of engineers and designers is beneficial.
