Position Overview:

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is expanding its Manufacturing Infrastructure Services (MIS) team and is currently seeking a Structural Engineer. This role offers the chance to design cutting-edge facilities across various sectors, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector projects. We are looking for proactive individuals who possess strong communication abilities and a desire to leverage their professional expertise in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, committed to meeting both personal and team objectives, and adaptable to a dynamic work setting. A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required, with preference given to those holding a Professional Engineer registration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply structural codes and standards effectively.
  • Collaborate under the guidance of a senior engineer to:
    • Utilize various structural engineering software, including STAAD, RAM, TEDDS, SP-MATS, and Hilti Profis, for the analysis and design of buildings, foundations, and other structures.
    • Prepare detailed structural calculations and designs for materials such as steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Oversee the quality of structural designs executed by team members.
  • Act as the primary contact for structural discipline discussions with project managers and other discipline leads.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate design details and criteria with other engineering disciplines.
  • Generate estimates for structural engineering hours required for ongoing projects and new proposals.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience, particularly in industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, AIST, ASCE, and AWS.
  • Proficiency in structural design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to conduct field/site visits.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
  • Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is beneficial.
  • P.E. Registration or E.I.T. status with substantial experience under a licensed P.E.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams and projects.
