Position Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences at George Washington University is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty role in Computational Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position aims to commence in the upcoming academic semester.
We are in search of a researcher who is engaged in utilizing or innovating bioinformatics and computational methodologies to explore biomedical science domains that connect with fundamental biological processes, including but not limited to evolutionary genomics, molecular epidemiology, molecular microbiology, pathogen biology, systems biology, and emerging omics technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate is expected to have established a research program that is externally funded and involves both graduate and undergraduate students.
Teaching responsibilities will encompass a foundational undergraduate course and an advanced course or laboratory in bioinformatics aligned with the candidate's area of expertise.
Minimum Requirements:
A completed PhD or Doctoral degree, along with the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher) with tenure at the time of application, and a proven track record of research accomplishments evidenced by an established, externally funded research program and publications in reputable journals.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $130,000

Office and laboratory space will be situated in a designated facility, with access to advanced resources for high-performance computing, the Computational Biology Institute, the Genomics Core, and the Cancer Center, along with collaboration opportunities with colleagues in the Health Sciences departments.
