Assistant Professor in Cancer Research

Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech is seeking to appoint a tenure track faculty member at the assistant professor level specializing in cancer research. This position is part of a significant collaborative research effort with the Children's National Hospital. The successful candidate will be situated in Virginia Tech's cutting-edge research facilities located at the Children's National Research and Innovation Campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust, externally funded research program focused on cancer, particularly brain cancer.
  • Engage in collaborative research with teams from Virginia Tech and Children's National Hospital.
  • Contribute to the education of graduate students and serve as a mentor for undergraduate and medical students.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an earned doctorate (PhD, MD, or DVM) and have postdoctoral research experience. A demonstrated record of research productivity through high-quality publications and evidence of current or past extramural funding is essential. Candidates with expertise in laboratory-based research or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.
