Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Biology courses at the University of Nevada. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, as well as a passion for fostering an inclusive campus culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology courses, including lecture and lab components, to undergraduate students.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and advise students, providing guidance and support to ensure their academic success.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • M.S. or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Biology or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of instructional effectiveness at the college/university level.
  • Commitment to active/experiential learning.
  • Experience or interest in developing curriculum at the university level.
