Associate Clinical Professor in Nutrition

Overview of Responsibilities
- Oversee the graduate program accredited by ACEND, including the management of supervised experiential learning, assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of competency-based evaluation and readiness for professional practice.
- Act as an advisor for capstone projects, guiding students through their academic journey.
- Employ diverse assessment strategies to ensure the attainment of student learning outcomes.
- Show proficiency in various instructional delivery systems and methodologies, such as online education, social media, and portfolios, to provide educational content grounded in evidence-based research and personal expertise.
- Maintain familiarity with the accreditation standards pertinent to Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Collaborate effectively with the Department Chair, Associate Dean for Academic Programs, fellow Program Directors, faculty members, and other academic units, as well as with local agencies and service providers.
- Engage in student advisement, hold designated office hours, and conduct course evaluations with appropriate corrective actions.
- Contribute to the institution's mission through outreach and engagement with students and community stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize a range of assessment techniques to guarantee the achievement of educational outcomes.
- Demonstrate familiarity with various instructional delivery methods, including online platforms and social media, to provide educational content supported by research and expertise.
- Exhibit knowledge of Blackboard and Banner systems.
- Develop comprehensive course syllabi that include approved learning objectives and evaluation forms.
- Understand the ACEND accreditation standards for Nutrition and Dietetics at the undergraduate level.
- Work collaboratively with the Didactic Program in Dietetics, Department Chair, Associate Dean of Academic Programs, faculty, and other academic units to address local and national priorities in professional Nutrition and Dietetics practice.
- Engage in student advisement, maintain office hours, and conduct course reviews with necessary corrective actions.
- Support the land-grant mission through outreach and engagement with students and community stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a terminal degree (PhD or DCN).
- Hold credentials as a Registered Nutritionist and Dietitian (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD).
- Be eligible for licensure in relevant jurisdictions.
- Possess RDN-AP certification or a DCN degree.
- Have a minimum of five years of advanced clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or eligibility for certification within a year.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in teaching, research, program planning, and problem-solving.
- Be familiar with or willing to learn about the urban land-grant university system and its dual mission of academic excellence and community outreach.
Qualifications for Associate Professor
- Possess an earned doctorate or equivalent credentials in the field of specialization.
- Demonstrate a record of scholarship and professional development.
- Have at least five years of full-time teaching experience in higher education, including three years as an Assistant Professor. Community college experience is preferred.
Qualifications for Assistant Professor
- Hold an appropriate terminal degree or agree to complete the degree within a specified timeframe.
- Have at least three years of full-time teaching experience, including two years in higher education.
- Appropriate professional experience may substitute for formal teaching experience when necessary.
