Position Overview:
The University of the District of Columbia is in search of a dedicated and collaborative professional to fill the role of Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education. This full-time, tenure-track position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive curriculum in early childhood education, focusing on child development, family engagement, and effective communication.
- Organize and oversee practical experiences for students within the program.
- Provide academic advising and support to students, maintaining thorough records.
- Participate in recruitment and retention initiatives for students.
- Facilitate field experiences and coordinate assignments for students.
- Stay updated on current trends and developments in early childhood education.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to enhance program offerings and curriculum.
- Engage in professional development and community service activities.
- Attend and contribute to departmental and college-wide meetings.
- Prepare course materials that align with learning outcomes and assess student performance.
- Maintain office hours to support student inquiries and academic needs.
- Assist in securing external funding for educational programs.
- Develop and deliver online courses, utilizing instructional technology as needed.

Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. (preferred) or Master's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably in a community college setting.
- Knowledge and experience in developing programming for the care and education of young children are highly desirable.
- Certification in the Program for Infant and Toddler Caregivers (PITC) is a plus.
- Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are encouraged to apply.
