Your Role in Creating Impact

  • Evaluate and manage bodily injury and third-party property damage claims by investigating and collecting information to assess the claim's exposure; ensure proactive claims management aimed at prompt and cost-effective resolutions through well-structured action plans. Identify the need for and oversee independent adjusters to gather necessary information and control their expenses.
  • Identify and assess coverage issues; draft detailed coverage letters with supervisory review and analysis; engage coverage counsel when necessary.
  • Assess liability and resolve claims within established evaluations. Maintain organized diaries and complete tasks within required timelines as outlined by departmental guidelines; ensure claim files are documented promptly and accurately with clear and concise analyses on coverage, damages, reserves, and liability, including an action plan for resolution. Process and settle invoices in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate vendor referrals for further investigation and/or litigation management. Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves; monitor reserve accuracy throughout the claim's lifecycle.
  • Refer cases as appropriate to supervisors and management. Respond to requests or directives in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
  • Successfully complete required state licensing examinations and continuing education requirements.
  • Communicate with all internal business partners, including underwriters, to ensure awareness of significant losses and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with TPA Governance and Relationship Management to assist TPAs and insureds in adhering to claims handling and reporting guidelines.
  • Work with TPA Claims Financial to verify the accuracy of TPA financials, ensuring alignment with TTPO financials.

Qualifications for Success

  • Over 7 years of experience in General Liability/Auto claims.
  • Experience managing complex and high-exposure General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong negotiation abilities.
  • Advanced expertise in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes related to auto/GL exposures.
  • Strong technical knowledge in interpreting insurance contracts.
  • In-depth understanding of claims handling procedures, performance strategies, and best practices.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to initiate and lead change initiatives that leverage technology and enhance benchmarking skills.
  • Creativity in resolving complex business challenges, as well as the ability to achieve business objectives is essential.
