Key Responsibilities

The role of a Claims Specialist involves investigating, assessing, and resolving first and third-party auto liability claims, minor injury claims, and low complexity general liability losses.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain ongoing communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the claims process.
  • Uphold high standards of customer service, ensuring prompt contact and follow-up to complete timely and accurate investigations, damage evaluations, and claim resolutions in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of coverage, liability, and damages, documenting facts and maintaining evidence to support claim resolutions.
  • Adhere to all statutory and regulatory requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves with documented rationale, requiring ongoing review throughout the life of the claim.
  • Demonstrate technical efficiency through timely and consistent execution of best practices in claims handling.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers regarding claims and account issues.
  • Maintain and manage a diary system to efficiently oversee and resolve assigned claims inventory.
  • Property and casualty licenses are required and must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications for Success
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years of prior claims handling experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Analytical mindset with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Property and casualty licenses are required and must be obtained within six months of hire.
