Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned and driven software architect to take charge of architectural strategies and oversee the development efforts of our engineering team.

Reporting Structure: This role will report directly to the VP of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and practical experience in constructing scalable and extensible systems, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and manageable codebase.
  • Provide mentorship to team members, influence architectural choices with a long-term perspective, collaborate closely with the VP/CTO to devise optimal solutions, and contribute individually to feature completion as per the product roadmap.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and offer insights to management regarding the scope of features being delivered.
  • Assess and analyze performance metrics of both new and existing code.
  • Conduct code reviews to uphold quality standards.
  • Implement proof of concepts for any new technologies that may be utilized.
  • Assist in evaluating potential new hires through the interview process.

Qualifications:

  • Essential Experience: Proficiency in Java Microservice-Based Architecture, Design Patterns, Extensible Architecture, SpringBoot, Spring Frameworks, JavaScript, Angular 10+, MySQL.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Redis, Docker, JMS, DocumentDB, ActiveMQ, RxJS, Cloud Technologies (AWS), Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Construction/Scheduling.
