The AIG Casualty Specialty Department is composed of a team of highly skilled claim professionals with extensive experience in managing diverse claims, particularly focusing on Construction Defect and Sexual Abuse/Molestation Reviver cases. By fostering a collaborative environment in handling complex claims, many of which involve significant coverage challenges, team members thrive on sharing their insights and experiences. This role presents opportunities to work alongside senior claim, underwriting, and actuarial management, as well as potential for career advancement within the department and the organization.

Your Leadership Impact

  • As a specialist in Construction Defect and Molestation Reviver Claims, you will manage a portfolio of intricate, high-value claims from initial coverage inquiries to legal liability assessments and financial evaluations, striving for timely and precise resolutions.
  • Your goal will be to resolve claims efficiently, accurately, and with a customer-centric approach, minimizing liability exposure and reducing vendor and legal expenses – actively promoting and exemplifying the 'Treating Customers Fairly' principles in claims management.
  • You will maintain consistent communication with both internal and external stakeholders in your capacity as the technical claims authority and innovative thinker.
  • As a senior team member, you will provide support to the Team Manager when necessary, offer training, and serve as a technical resource for colleagues.
  • You will contribute to the enhancement of Claims processes by supporting Quality Assurance and Regional Audit initiatives, ensuring the mitigation of liability and expense exposure while keeping all key internal and external stakeholders informed on developments and outcomes as required.

Qualifications for Success

  • In-depth understanding of legal, regulatory, and litigation/procedural requirements for Casualty Claims.
  • Experience in negotiating, mediating, arbitrating, and employing ADR skills in managing complex high-value claims.
  • Expertise in accurately interpreting policy language.
  • A proven history of effectively implementing recommendations from technical claims audits and continuously enhancing file management.
  • The ability to influence both claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively guide claims strategy.
  • Capability to provide technical training to the team’s claim handlers as needed.
  • Preferably possess a JD Degree.
