Position Overview

The Senior Applications Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in collaborating with various departments while independently defining, troubleshooting, and resolving software and system analysis tasks utilizing established methodologies. This position requires a high level of integrity, innovation, and expertise in systems analysis to effectively meet the organization's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Epic Business Systems, Hospital Billing Team

Under the guidance of the Manager, the analyst will work closely with all departments and autonomously address software and system analysis challenges using recognized techniques. Responsibilities include the build and maintenance of the Epic Hospital Billing (HB) application, along with providing technical support to billing and financial operations teams and other end-users. The analyst will also develop skills to support the Epic Professional Billing (PB) application and assist in the implementation of various information system initiatives across billing operations. Collaboration with the Manager to create work plans and support the recruitment and development of junior team members is essential. Candidates with Epic Hospital Billing/Single Billing Office (HB/SBO) certification are preferred, while HB Claims/Remits certification is an added advantage.

Successful analysts possess the ability to discuss system design concepts or issue investigations without needing to reference the system or documentation actively. They can articulate complex technology concepts to others, including peers in different IS roles, end users, and organizational leaders.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Availability for evening, weekend, or on-call hours may be required based on departmental needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and possessing strong organizational, analytical, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills are essential for effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and reliability are critical work qualities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions while working collaboratively within a team environment to support departmental objectives.
  • Capable of managing varying workloads while adhering to deadlines.
  • Project management skills are desirable.
