Lebanon, New Hampshire, United States Dartmouth Health Full time

Overview

The Heart and Vascular Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is in search of a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) with a solid foundation in general cardiology. Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience are preferred, although we are open to training highly motivated new graduates or those with relevant nursing experience.

This role involves collaboration within a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including both physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. You will have the chance to work alongside innovative cardiology subspecialties such as Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Interventional and Structural Heart teams.

The selected candidate will engage in both inpatient and outpatient clinical environments, focusing on delivering and coordinating exceptional care and education for cardiac patients and their families. This will be achieved as part of a multidisciplinary team, supported by a staff cardiologist. Effective collaboration and communication with all members of the treatment team are essential for managing cardiac patients.

This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex and acute cardiac conditions. You will also be involved in triaging cardiac patients at community hospitals for transfer to our tertiary care center, along with managing chronic cardiac conditions. As a patient advocate, you will ensure that all aspects of patients' and families' needs are addressed, preventing fragmentation of care.

Additional Responsibilities

Alongside clinical duties, this role includes a teaching component and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Given our affiliation with the Dartmouth Institute and Geisel School of Medicine, there are ample opportunities for academic appointments and career advancement for driven providers.

Work Schedule

Primary working hours are from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with some flexibility based on daily responsibilities. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage is required, with a minimum weekend commitment of approximately once every four weeks.
