Lead Systems Analyst for Laboratory Applications

Overview

This role involves overseeing the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and assessment of Information Systems. The position includes managing a team of Information Services professionals.

A solid foundation in Laboratory medicine along with experience in laboratory information systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develops system solutions to address operational challenges and fulfill customer requirements.

2. Oversees medium to large-scale projects that significantly affect various segments of the organization or have a considerable impact on its financial stability.

3. Coordinates workflow within the team and facilitates communication with other Information Services teams and user groups.

4. Maintains a comprehensive understanding of both the organization and the healthcare sector.

5. Empowers team members, fostering a culture of responsibility and decision-making. Encourages ongoing learning and improvement.

6. Conducts regular team meetings.

7. Recommends appropriate hardware and software solutions to meet user requirements.

8. Plans, develops, directs, schedules, and/or assists in the deployment and enhancement of the organization's information systems. Collaborates with users to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

9. Supervises team members and handles administrative responsibilities. Completes performance evaluations for team members and makes recommendations regarding hiring, compensation, promotions, and terminations.

10. Participates in an on-call rotation and engages in project work that may require availability during off-hours, weekends, and holidays.

11. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience in information services or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, or equivalent relevant experience is required.

Proficiency with relevant hardware and software applications is necessary.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, adaptable, and possess excellent organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Exceptional coaching, feedback, and listening abilities are required.

An analytical mindset for problem-solving and needs assessment is crucial.

Demonstrated capability to enhance work management processes and methodologies. Experience in training others in work management skills is preferred.

Project management and application testing skills are advantageous.
