The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Health is on the lookout for a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This role involves the assessment and management of urgent medical issues for both pediatric and adult patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our healthcare team, your primary duties will encompass:
- Conducting diagnostic evaluations and ordering necessary tests.
- Performing laceration repairs and managing abscess drainage.
- Removing foreign bodies and conducting slit lamp examinations.
- Applying splints for common fractures and administering prophylactic rabies treatment.
- Executing various procedures within the scope of practice for advanced practitioners.
- Prescribing medications and formulating appropriate disposition plans for patients.
It is important to note that Physician Assistants will deliver care under the supervision of a registered physician.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Graduation from an accredited APRN or PA academic program.
- National specialty certification as FNP, PNP, Acute or Primary Care A-GNP, WHNP, or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of NH (for APRN candidates).
- Eligibility for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH.
- Eligibility for Federal DEA Registration.
- BLS certification.
Work Schedule
This position will involve a rotating shift schedule.
