Dartmouth Health's Psychiatry Department, in collaboration with the State of New Hampshire, is seeking a Psychiatric Specialist primarily stationed at Hampstead Hospital, our affiliated state facility dedicated to the psychiatric and residential care of children, adolescents, and young adults.


In this capacity, you will deliver advanced psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for youth. Our team comprises experienced nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and medical professionals working together to provide exceptional care.


The objective of this state-academic partnership is to ensure exemplary care, educate others in this vital field, and enhance our understanding of optimal service delivery for this demographic.

About Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility


Hampstead Hospital is an accredited specialty hospital in New Hampshire, addressing the acute psychiatric and substance use disorder needs of youth. Our facility offers tailored behavioral programs based on individual cognitive and psychiatric requirements.


We operate two specialized treatment programs: the Acute Psychiatric Unit and the Intensive Behavioral Unit, serving over 40 children and adolescents.


Our services include:

  • A 15-bed inpatient hospitalization unit
  • Partial hospitalization as a transitional step from inpatient care
  • A 12-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility
