Position Overview

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is in search of a dedicated and professional individual to fill the role of HR Special Program Assistant within the Administrative-Technical Services Division.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinating the scheduling of medical evaluations for all applicants seeking positions within the Department.
  • Managing the Agency's Occupational Health Program, which includes facilitating health assessments and conducting gas mask fit testing for eligible employees.
  • Acting as a liaison between the Department and external service providers for medical evaluations and background investigations, ensuring the accuracy of service invoices.
  • Overseeing the promotional process for Sergeant and First Lieutenant rankings for both Correctional and Operational deputies, including organizing focus groups to develop assessment components and coordinating assessors for the evaluation of candidates.
  • Generating reports and compiling monthly statistics for management review.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant County, Department, and Division policies, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Representing the Department at various internal and external meetings and conferences.
  • Ensuring that sworn personnel complete required medical evaluations.
  • Maintaining records related to line of duty deaths for Agency personnel.
  • Upholding the confidentiality of sensitive personnel information.

Compensation

The hiring salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with three (3) years of relevant experience in a human resources support capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with PowerDMS is preferred.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve a review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, followed by in-person interviews and a comprehensive background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, criminal background checks, credit checks, driving records, and polygraph examinations.
