Job Summary

Mid-State Machine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will work closely with business leaders and managers to align local HR practices with our company's goals and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Outreach: Develop relationships with local schools, career centers, and other sources to build a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Recruitment Support: Collaborate with local hiring managers to ensure effective candidate flow from application to onboarding.
  • Onboarding Process: Facilitate the onboarding process, including background screening, HRIS inputs, and timekeeping system integration.
  • New Hire Orientation: Ensure new hires receive clear communication on company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Compliance: Maintain employee personnel files, ensure I-9 requirements, and E-Verify processes are followed.
  • Timekeeping: Work with local managers to ensure accurate and timely timekeeping records.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a positive and engaging work environment through proactive communication and problem-solving.
  • Performance Management: Support managers in setting performance expectations, delivering feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with local leadership and corporate HR to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Employee Support: Provide routine support to employees on payroll, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • HR Team Collaboration: Participate in regular HR team meetings and complete assignments from the HR Action Rail.
  • Employee Termination: Process employee terminations in ADP and Exaktime, and notify relevant managers and IT personnel.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressing experience in Human Resources.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations. Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Abilities: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, ability to work cross-functionally.
Work Environment
  • Office environment in a machining/fabrication facility.
Physical Requirements
  • Talk/Hear: Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Stand/Sit: Must be able to sit or stand in one position to use a computer for extended periods.
  • Walk: Must be able to walk or move about an office environment well enough to engage and interact with others.
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently operates a computer to perform general office duties.
  • Climb: Seldom may need to climb stairs to meet with other managers.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: May occasionally need to stoop, kneel, or crawl to access files and supplies.
  • See: Must see well enough to frequently use a computer and review written documents.
  • Carry, weight, Lift: Must be able to carry up to 10lbs on a regular basis to carry laptop and other essential business items.
