Senior Tax Compliance Manager

Position Overview

The Senior Tax Compliance Manager will be a key player in the tax department, bringing expertise in income tax provisions and federal corporate tax regulations. This role encompasses the management of daily tax compliance and strategic planning, alongside various responsibilities in tax accounting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and guide tax managers and staff within the department.
  • Establish and monitor operational objectives to ensure performance and profitability.
  • Stay updated on current tax legislation and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare documentation to support tax positions.
  • Develop efficient schedules while managing labor costs and meeting staffing goals.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage components of monthly tax compliance and reporting.
  • Review federal and state income tax returns and oversee estimated tax payments.
  • Analyze tax-sensitive accounts and recommend improvements.
  • Perform technical research on tax strategies and compliance issues.
  • Design and enhance procedures for proactive tax issue identification and resolution.
  • Engage in special projects and analyses as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all departmental and company matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; extensive experience in public accounting or corporate tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state income tax laws and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and tax preparation software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to analyze financial data and present findings effectively.
  • Experience in leadership roles is preferred.
