The Tax Compliance Manager will oversee the direct and indirect tax obligations across North and South America. Internally, this role will engage in business operations and strategic planning, ensuring that tax arrangements and documentation are effectively integrated into our business framework. Externally, the manager will liaise with government agencies and tax authorities to fulfill compliance requirements and manage audits, ensuring that tax risks are aligned with industry standards while accurately reporting the company's tax information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CPA firms to prepare and submit corporate income tax returns for BenQ group entities across North and South America.
  • Manage the filing of Canada federal GST/HST, Quebec sales tax, BC PST, Saskatchewan PST, and Manitoba RST.
  • Oversee sales tax submissions for each state within the United States.
  • Supervise VAT and GST filings for entities in Mexico and Brazil in partnership with authorized third-party CPA firms.
  • Coordinate with the BenQ-Qisda group HQ tax team for CBCR disclosures and group-related tax matters.
  • Monitor transfer pricing compliance.
  • Prepare month-end tax provision calculations for review by the regional finance head and ensure accurate booking by the NS accounting team.
  • Register tax IDs as required by business operations.
  • Conduct regular tax compliance assessments to identify any risks and propose solutions to the regional finance head.
  • Collaborate with HQ stock affairs management to maintain corporate titles, registrations, business licenses, and director changes across North and South America.
  • Participate in the annual report or ESG reporting task force.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of professional experience in tax, controlling, treasury, or accounting.
  • Experience working in multiple countries, adept at navigating cultural differences.
  • Fluency in French or Portuguese, with the ability to read and speak for tax filing and audit purposes.
  • Highly organized and disciplined in managing routine operational tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (MS 360, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel internationally for business or audit purposes.
  • Strong research and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and proactive work ethic, capable of working independently.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required.

We offer a competitive salary and bonus structure based on experience.
