Senior Tax Manager

Position Overview

The Senior Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's direct tax compliance and strategic planning. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of corporate tax regulations and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor tax staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Establish and track operational goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives.
  • Stay informed on current tax legislation and implement necessary changes within the organization.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare documentation to support tax positions and communications with stakeholders.
  • Develop efficient workflows that optimize labor costs while meeting staffing needs and maintaining service quality.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, providing insights and recommendations for tax-related expenditures.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze tax-related general ledger accounts, identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions.
  • Perform detailed technical research on tax strategies and compliance issues.
  • Design and enhance processes to proactively identify and resolve tax challenges.
  • Engage in special projects and analyses as required by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all departmental and organizational matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a minimum of six years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax.
  • Leadership experience is essential; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of federal and state tax principles, along with income tax accounting standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and tax software.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
