Position Overview

The Senior Tax Manager will be an integral part of the organization, bringing extensive expertise in corporate taxation and income tax provisions. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily and strategic tax compliance and planning efforts of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, including managers and staff.
  • Establish and track operational objectives, ensuring alignment with performance and profitability goals.
  • Stay updated on evolving tax legislation and its implications.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare documentation to support tax positions and communications with stakeholders.
  • Develop efficient work schedules while managing labor costs and meeting internal service expectations.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, providing insights and ensuring adherence to financial plans.
  • Oversee monthly compliance and reporting under ASC 740.
  • Review and supervise the preparation of federal and state tax returns.
  • Evaluate tax-sensitive accounts and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct technical research on tax strategies and compliance issues.
  • Design and enhance processes for proactive tax issue identification and resolution.
  • Engage in special projects and analyses as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all departmental and organizational matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a minimum of six years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax.
  • Leadership experience is essential; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations, as well as ASC 740 principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and tax preparation software.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
