Position Overview:
The Chief Advancement Officer is a pivotal role at Elmhurst College, responsible for steering the strategic direction of the Office of Institutional Advancement. This position is integral to fostering relationships and securing financial support for the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive fundraising initiatives.
- Ensure the annual operating support for the institution is met through the Elmhurst Fund.
- Formulate and implement strategies to maximize gift support for both operational and capital requirements.
- Innovate and pursue aggressive strategies to identify and secure new funding sources.
- Actively engage with high-level donors and emerging prospects through personal visits.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to set fundraising strategies and ensure effective solicitation processes.
- Inspire and manage a high-performing Advancement team, fostering accountability and results.
- Establish policies and metrics to align departmental goals with institutional objectives.

Collaboration and Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with campus partners to enhance alumni engagement and student recruitment.
- Oversee the donor development process, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Promote best practices in fundraising and serve as an advisor to the Advancement and Trusteeship committees.
- Represent the institution at various social and civic events, enhancing community presence.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in higher education advancement or comprehensive campaign management.
- Proven ability to travel and maintain an active schedule of personal engagements.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding performance objectives.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team building and collaboration.
- Experience with relational databases and major gift prospect management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, suitable for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five years of relevant management experience in higher education advancement.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily indoor work environment with occasional physical activity required.
