Under the guidance of the current President, the University has achieved significant milestones, including a successful comprehensive fundraising campaign and record enrollment figures.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a proven history of success in advancement roles, demonstrating the ability to cultivate meaningful alumni relationships and secure substantial philanthropic support. They will develop and implement strategic plans aimed at maximizing contributions for both operational and capital needs.

Essential skills include:

  • Strong management capabilities, including team building and performance accountability.
  • Collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the liberal arts and the value of higher education.

The Chief Advancement Officer will be expected to act with integrity, clearly articulate the University’s mission, and foster a culture of accountability within the advancement office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The responsibilities of the Chief Advancement Officer include:

  • Leading the planning and execution of comprehensive fundraising campaigns.
  • Securing annual operating support for the University.
  • Identifying and cultivating new funding sources.
  • Engaging with high-level donors and prospects through personal visits.
  • Setting strategic goals for donor engagement and solicitation.
  • Motivating and developing a high-performing advancement team.
  • Collaborating with campus partners to enhance alumni engagement and fundraising efforts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with seven to ten years of relevant experience in higher education advancement. The candidate must be willing to travel and maintain an active schedule of engagements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A master’s degree and additional management experience in advancement roles are preferred.
