Position Overview:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) holds the ultimate responsibility and authority for the leadership and management of Intertribal Friendship House (IFH). The CEO is tasked with formulating an organizational strategy that aligns with the mission and vision of IFH, ensuring its sustainability, and translating this strategy into actionable operational goals for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide IFH towards fulfilling its mission, establishing both short-term and long-term program objectives that address the needs of the Bay Area Native American community.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of the annual budget approved by the IFH Board, while developing budgets for various functions.
  • Provide exemplary individual and group supervision, fostering a positive organizational culture that encourages teamwork and productivity.
  • Implement effective systems to assess impact and regularly evaluate program components, ensuring success metrics are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strong leadership by maintaining frequent communication with funders, tribal agencies, and other organizations to solidify IFH's role as a key community partner.
  • Direct and manage IFH's human resources, financial, and administrative operations, ensuring compliance with policies and relevant regulations.
  • Oversee human resources functions, including recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
  • Lead fundraising and marketing initiatives, actively seeking funding opportunities to enhance resources and develop new programs.
  • Ensure the successful execution and reporting of grant objectives, while remaining accountable to the Board of Directors.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working with Native communities from diverse backgrounds, with a preference for experience in urban AI communities.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in budget planning, program development, and information systems, with a preference for 5 years in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven experience in supervising staff and fostering their professional growth.
  • A track record of building relationships with influential individuals and organizations, including funders and partner agencies.
  • Experience in generating new revenue streams and enhancing financial outcomes.
  • Ability to implement strategies that effectively activate initiatives across the organization.
  • A demonstrated commitment to helping families enhance their resilience and self-reliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
