Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Patient First. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality x-rays and ensuring the safety of patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • X-ray Acquisition: Obtain high-quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure techniques.
  • Safety Procedures: Implement safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Image Management: Create and document x-ray CD copies according to Patient First guidelines, labeling images and sleeves correctly.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Understand and operate x-ray and processing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Administrative Tasks: File and maintain x-ray paperwork, and ensure the safety of patients when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Understand and use the Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen, as well as the automated medical records system.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean work areas, perform biological cleanup, and maintain equipment according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Supply Management: Receive, move, and restock ordered supplies.
  • Communication: Address physician and nurse requests in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Training and Development: Attend training classes and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Availability: Be available to work as needed, with breaks and mealtimes potentially interrupted for patient care and center operations.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of clerical experience preferred, one year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), licensed to practice in Diagnostic Radiography by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, keyboarding experience required.
