**Position Overview**
The Onsite Technical Services Technician plays a crucial role in delivering technical assistance to our clients by overseeing the on-site repair and component replacement of Philadelphia Gear and Brand X equipment. This includes working with Marine Reduction Gears and various prime movers such as motors, engines, and driven equipment like pumps, compressors, generators, and fan impellers.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • **Diagnosing Equipment Issues:** Identify the root causes of equipment malfunctions through visual inspections and diagnostic tools.
  • **Repair Scope Assessment:** Determine the necessary repairs and replacement parts by supervising the disassembly of equipment and evaluating components.
  • **Quality Assurance:** Ensure that repairs meet design specifications and verify proper operation post-repair.
  • **Documentation:** Prepare and submit service reports, time sheets, expense reports, and corrective action forms promptly.
  • **Travel Requirements:** Engage in extensive travel across the U.S. and internationally to support Timken's global initiatives, particularly on marine vessels for U.S. Navy and Coast Guard operations.
  • **Project Supervision:** Occasionally oversee subcontractors during larger OTS projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • **Continuous Learning:** Complete a minimum of 40 hours of training annually through Timken University or other approved training programs.
  • **Safety Compliance:** Maintain several safety certifications, including BOSIET, OSHA-10, OSHA MARITIME, DBIDS, and TWIC.

**Essential Skills and Attributes**
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, effective goal-setting, project management skills, and a high level of organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand, climb, lift up to 25 pounds, crouch, crawl, and work on elevated platforms or offshore rigs.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma and a commitment to maintaining and enhancing technical expertise in both Industrial and Marine service applications.
