Location: Remote

Duration: 13 weeks, with possibility for extension

Pay Rate: $20-$22/hour

Job Type: Full-time

Time: 7 am-7 pm staggered shifts

Must be open to working OT and possible weekends

Job Summary:

The Patient Access Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for access to USC academic medical centers and USC Health Sciences Campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct incoming and outgoing telephone calls, electronic messages, and other web-based communications using a call management system.
  • Respond to basic inquiries and refer other inquiries to appropriate medical personnel.
  • Contact and distribute messages to medical personnel using various electronic methods.
  • Schedule and confirm initial and follow-up medical appointments, register patients, and verify insurance coverage.
  • Perform data entry, ensure data integrity, and reconcile as needed.
Requirements:

Must Haves:

  • Minimum two years of experience working in a call center, customer service, and healthcare department/environment.

Preferred:

  • Vocational certificates in healthcare, appointment scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or medical assisting.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or operations field.
