Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Liaison I to join our team at Keck Medicine of USC. As a key member of our patient access team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families seeking access to our academic medical centers and healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access and Referral Coordination: Respond to patient inquiries, screen and direct incoming and outgoing communications, and coordinate referrals to medical personnel.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and confirm initial and follow-up medical appointments as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide warm, courteous, and professional behavior in accordance with Keck Medicine of USC's customer service standards.
  • Communication: Utilize electronic methods, including text, voice, and email systems, to communicate with medical personnel and patients.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute effectively as a productive team member to the Patient Access Center and Keck Medicine of USC.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or operations field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working in a customer service department or environment, or 1 year in healthcare or a combination thereof.
  • Skills: Demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and high-level computer literacy with practice management scheduling systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or operations field.
  • Experience: Specialized/technical training in healthcare, such as appoint scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or medical assisting.
  • Skills: Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, various health insurance types, medical terminology, and bilingual skills in languages such as Spanish, Chinese, or other languages.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work from home as needed, following departmental guidelines and expectations for remote work.
