Position Summary:

The Sales Route Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales growth across designated routes. The successful candidate will foster, sustain, and expand business, social, and community connections with clients along their assigned routes to optimize profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture collaborative partnerships with store managers and key decision-makers.
  • Communicate expectations clearly to company drivers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals through regular updates and training documentation submission to Human Resources.
  • Meet sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service to various accounts.
  • Identify potential leads, manage prospects, and secure new business opportunities.
  • Conduct visits to customer facilities, providing necessary information and support to maintain and grow business relationships.
  • Proactively address customer needs, offering tailored solutions to enhance service quality.
  • Maintain regular communication with District Managers of major retail chains to support sales and service objectives.
  • Build trust and rapport with key management personnel through consistent visits and effective communication.
  • Prepare customized sales strategies based on in-depth knowledge of specific retail customers and product offerings to capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Ensure commitments to sales and service are met, exceeding expectations of store management.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of company products and pricing structures.
  • Manage leads generated by the company effectively.
  • Engage in scheduled prospecting activities to establish initial and follow-up meetings with key decision-makers.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Division Sales Manager regarding sales activities, goal progress, and customer status.
  • Conduct store visits to assess service strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate advertising and display space through weekly customer visits, ensuring a minimum of two visits per week.
  • Participate in grand openings and store anniversaries to strengthen relationships.
  • Review weekly Out-of-Stock reports to address deficiencies promptly.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to service stores and cultivate customer relationships efficiently.
  • Prepare contingency plans for route organization and ensure all paperwork is systematically arranged.
  • Ensure stores receive optimal service without discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including maintaining equipment and truck inventory compliance.
  • Attend all mandatory safety meetings and ensure personal hygiene policies are followed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Experience interacting with diverse customer types in retail settings.
  • Capability to lift 20 to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean vehicle and/or truck.
  • Adherence to safety measures, including proper lifting techniques.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail or field sales.
  • Familiarity with basic computer functions, including document management and email.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Timely communication with management via phone or email.
  • Experience with personal devices such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Valid driver's license, full coverage auto insurance, and a clean driving record are required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
