Sales Route Manager

Position Summary:
The Independent Operator plays a crucial role in driving sales growth across designated routes. The ideal candidate will cultivate, sustain, and enhance business, social, and community connections with clients in their assigned areas to achieve optimal profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture collaborative partnerships with store managers and key decision-makers.
- Communicate expectations to company drivers and ensure alignment with organizational goals through regular updates and training documentation.
- Meet sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service to various accounts.
- Identify potential leads, manage prospects, and secure new business opportunities.
- Visit customer facilities to provide necessary information and support to maintain and grow business relationships.
- Anticipate customer needs, propose suitable solutions, and ensure a high level of service.
- Maintain regular contact with District Managers of major retail chains to support sales and service objectives.
- Build trust and rapport with store management through consistent visits and communication.
- Prepare customized sales strategies based on in-depth knowledge of retail customers and product offerings to capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Follow through on sales commitments to exceed expectations of store management.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of company products and pricing.
- Manage leads generated by the company effectively.
- Conduct scheduled prospecting activities to establish initial and follow-up meetings with key decision-makers.
- Provide regular updates to the Division Sales Manager regarding sales activities and customer status.
- Conduct periodic store visits to assess service strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure a minimum of two customer visits per week to negotiate promotions and secure display space.
- Participate in store openings and anniversaries.
- Review weekly Out-of-Stock reports to address any deficiencies promptly.
- Utilize effective time management skills to service stores and foster customer relationships.
- Establish contingency plans for route organization and management.
- Ensure stores receive optimal service without discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working order.
- Ensure compliance with inventory standards and company hygiene policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Experience interacting with diverse customer types, including store personnel.
- Physical capability to lift 20 to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean vehicle and equipment.
- Adherence to safety measures, including proper lifting techniques.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in retail or field sales.
- Familiarity with basic computer operations (document management, email, internet, Microsoft Word, etc.).
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally.
- Proficient in timely communication with management.
- Experience using personal devices for work-related tasks.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
