Position Overview
The Naval Reactors Facility is seeking a dedicated professional to undertake three distinct responsibilities:
- Continuous Improvement Leadership: This role will primarily focus on leading projects and events aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
- Canister Certification Oversight: You will lead a specialized team to ensure compliance with all requirements for demonstrating that naval spent nuclear fuel is suitable for storage in a national repository.
- Engineering Support Management: This involves maintaining the manuals that dictate how engineers develop work instructions.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related field from an accredited institution along with 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 7 years of relevant experience; or hold qualifications as a Shift Supervisor Part II; or be a qualified Shift Test Engineer with 3 years of experience in the Nuclear Operations Program; or have 6 years of experience as a Senior Reactor Engineer; or be qualified as a Senior Reactor Engineer with 9 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting a product line at the Naval Reactors Facility.
- Familiarity with LEAN methodologies and tools.
- LEAN belt certification.
- Experience in cross-functional team collaboration.
- Change management and project management experience.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly for the Canister Certification role.

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position ranges from $103,000 to $161,100, based on experience and qualifications.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, relying on the commitment and innovation of our nearly 8,000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.
