Position: Manufacturing Operations Technician
Role Summary:
- The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the effective functioning of the specialty chemicals production facility. The technician will engage with powdered substances utilized in the polymer production process, which are essential for applications in plastic manufacturing and wastewater management.
- Candidates must be comfortable working at various heights and moving consistently across multiple levels of the facility.
- Initially, the technician will observe experienced operators to learn the processes involved in the packaging area, performing minimal tasks independently during this training phase.
- Upon completion of training, the technician will be accountable for the safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient management of the chemical production operations, which includes overseeing utilities, bulk storage, and warehouse activities.
- Responsibilities include transferring 10-kilogram bags into containers, applying basic mathematical skills to monitor plant data, and adhering to established procedures. The role requires climbing ladders and operating forklifts, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Staying updated on operational protocols, emergency procedures, safety regulations, and company policies is essential.
- Proficiency in using forklifts, industrial scales, power tools, hand tools, and performing necessary equipment maintenance is required.
- Minor troubleshooting for maintenance issues will be part of the role, and familiarity with electrical systems is advantageous for instrumentation tasks.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Prior experience in the chemical industry is not mandatory, as we welcome both seasoned professionals and those eager to learn. Entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to be trained or individuals with packaging experience are encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Shifts are structured as 8-hour rotations, changing every two weeks: 2 weeks on the first shift, followed by 2 weeks on the second, and then 2 weeks on the third shift. Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, and 11 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Friday.
