Position Overview

The Plant Controller I plays a pivotal role in managing the financial and accounting aspects of a manufacturing facility. This position is integral to the leadership team, providing essential business insights and financial guidance. Key responsibilities encompass:

Financial Reporting and Analysis – 50%
  • Directing and managing the financial accounting functions in alignment with corporate policies.
  • Delivering monthly financial recaps to senior management, including detailed analyses of variances and key performance indicators.
  • Advising plant management on accounting matters, revenue recognition, and expense oversight.
  • Conducting comprehensive forecasts for major financial categories and identifying trends.
  • Establishing metrics to evaluate plant performance and driving initiatives to enhance financial outcomes.
  • Reviewing product costs and manufacturing variances to propose profit improvement strategies.
Business Strategy – 30%
  • Leading strategic planning to ensure sustainable growth and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with management to finalize the annual financial plan, encompassing all major financial components.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to explore operational improvements.
  • Providing financial insights for capital projects and compensation plan development.
  • Monitoring financial metrics throughout product development and vendor acquisitions.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and internal controls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Over 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and variance analysis.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and implement corrective actions.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Project management capabilities and the ability to influence stakeholders.
