Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.10, with applicable shift differentials.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of blood products and samples. Your tasks will include:
- Processing blood products after receipt from donors, including scanning and preparing units into transfusable components such as red cells, platelets, and plasma.
- Maintaining quality and production goals while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Implementing effective inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and distribution processes.
- Utilizing computer programs for component production, labeling, storage, and sample management.
- Making informed decisions based on visual inspections and data from other departments.
- Performing complex manufacturing tasks, including pathogen reduction and pooled product manufacturing.
- Communicating effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with various laboratory equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to use hands for handling, reaching, and communication. Ability to lift and move objects weighing 10-50 lbs unassisted. Frequent standing, walking, and bending required. Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures.
