Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.10, with applicable shift differentials.

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the production of blood products and samples. Your duties will include:

  • Processing blood products after receipt from donors, including scanning, separating into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, and plasma), and leukoreduction.
  • Meeting production quality and quantity targets while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Implementing effective inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and distribution process.
  • Utilizing computer systems for data entry and managing component production, labeling, storage, and sample tracking.
  • Conducting visual inspections and making informed decisions based on information from various departments.
  • Performing complex manufacturing tasks, including pooled product manufacturing and pathogen reduction.
  • Communicating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays, to support hospital needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with various programs and laboratory equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation, and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to use hands for handling and reaching, and to communicate effectively. Frequent lifting of objects weighing 10-50 lbs unassisted and pushing carts up to 100 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures.
