Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.10, plus applicable shift differentials.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of blood products and samples. Your duties will include:
- Processing blood products post-donation, including scanning and transforming units into transfusable components such as red cells, platelets, and plasma.
- Maintaining quality and quantity production goals while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Managing inventory effectively throughout the manufacturing and distribution process.
- Utilizing computer programs for component production, labeling, storage, and sample management.
- Conducting visual inspections and making informed decisions based on departmental information.
- Performing complex manufacturing tasks, including pooled product manufacturing and pathogen reduction.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams, vendors, and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with various laboratory equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to use hands for handling, reaching, and communication. Ability to lift and move objects weighing 10-50 lbs unassisted and push carts weighing up to 100 lbs. Must be able to stand for extended periods and withstand typical blood banking temperatures.
