Position Overview

The Ladders is on the lookout for a dedicated and goal-oriented Mortgage Loan Officer to enhance our team of skilled Mortgage Consultants. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in relationship management, assisting clients while delivering exceptional support throughout the home financing journey. It is essential for Mortgage Consultants to stay informed about current mortgage loan trends and maintain connections with various financial institutions, lenders, and advisors. Your primary objective in this role will be to guide clients in achieving their financial aspirations by providing responsible advice throughout the mortgage loan process, from application to closing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with loan applicants to assess their requirements, gather information for loan applications, and support them throughout the loan process.
  • Assist clients in completing mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness of submitted documents.
  • Evaluate financial information from all relevant parties to determine loan eligibility.
  • Timely submission of loan applications while regularly monitoring active loan files.
  • Prepare comprehensive and prompt pre-qualifications.
  • Counsel applicants and address any loan-related issues that may arise.
  • Originate and assess mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Foster relationships with Real Estate Sales Professionals, including regular attendance at Real Estate Branch meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Customer service-focused.
  • Proficient in current office technologies (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Valid Driver's License.
Education and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal mortgage loan regulations is essential.
  • New York State Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) License is required upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary as needed.

Compensation:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 per year, with additional incentive compensation (bonuses, commissions, etc.) based on predetermined personal performance metrics. Compensation ranges are influenced by various factors, including job function, level, classification, and geographic location. Final offer amounts will be determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
